Best Man Speech

When should your best man stand to give his speech? Traditionally the best man gives the first toast at the reception. But these days the maid of honor often makes a speech as well. As for timing all things should be planned out so that the night may flow smoothly. At a cocktail reception wait until everyone has a drink in their hand before starting the toasts. At a seated dinner reception begin when everyone has taken a chair and has a drink in hand. The rehearsal dinner is more of a glass clinking free for all. Anyone and everyone can stand up and tell a sweet or funny story about the couple. Have a great time but remember think before you speak.

The Green Wedding

We are finding a new trend where everyone at a wedding wear the same color? Such as an all white wedding. But let's say your passion is for the environment. So green is your color. This will make a cool statement and remind everyone that it is not easy being green. Or will it just add stress to your day? We are all about saving the earth, but this request seems a little self indulgent then sensible. It's tough enough for a guest to pull together an appropriately fab dress without having to deal with other restrictions. Plus not all colors look good on everyone. With today's social media instant post-a-gram who wants an unattractive picture roaming the world wide web FOREVER of them. YIKES! Instead of locking your guest into a color how about using flowers locally grown, an organic menu and in lieu of favors make a donation to your favorite eco-charity in honor of your guest.

The Iconic Dress of Princess Diana

Growing up, I remember the wedding of the beautiful Princess Diana. Such grace, classic beauty and the dress that changed the wedding fashion industry in an instant. This was the most publicized wedding of the decade. People around the world stopped to watch. Plates with their images were made and displayed in homes around the world. Most had never seen a train as long.

Now that her son is turning 30 years old and with Diana's will being followed, the dress will be returned home. It is an amazing dress, with so much history. It will be interesting to see the story of this dress continue.

Mentioned in the Daytona Beach News-Journal

We can't get much more official than this. With our next luncheon on the horizon at Harmony Gardens and our last one a great success at the DeBary Golf and Country club, we got a little mention in the Daytona Beach News-Journal yesterday. It's hard to believe how far we've come in the last year. Thank you brides, couples, vendors and venues!

Thanks to all who attended the December snack and learn!

Our luncheon at the beautiful Mulligan's Tavern & Grille
in Deland was a big success! Not only was our guest speaker Heather Canada great but so was the food!

Heather Canada of First Coast Weddings did a fantastic job speaking about social media marketing. She talked about how important and useful sites like Twitter and Facebook can be. They are both definitely cost effective ways to get the word out about your company!

Twitter and Facebook are not the only Social Media Marketing tools out there, but they are a great way to get started and kind of get a feel for it.
